Description
I am an artist and I have been doing research for some time on the Geisha as an artist. I created this drawing to honor the deeply misunderstood art of the Geisha. I see her as a Sacred Artist; one who had little choice but to perform or die in poverty. She is a symbol of sacred beauty and charm, while still expressing the essence of her sensuality and talent. There was a place for her in society, however she is viewed today. She was an accepted part of Japanese culture, serving a role that few women in this time had the opportunity to serve. I hope that you enjoy this drawing as much as I enjoyed making it.
